Finish A Dissertation In A Month Only:

There are plenty of reasons as to why you would want to finish your dissertation in a month. You may have other priorities that you need to take care of; or you may suffer from the common disease of procrastination and waited until the last minute to get started. Whatever the reason, if you are dedicated, it is possible to get your thesis complete within 30 days if you follow these simple steps.

Organizing & Writing Tricks

Stop socializing

This is a big problem for a lot of people; whenever something is going on they have to be there, birthday parties, concerts, weddings. It is not essential that you are present at every social gathering and if you want to complete your project within a month you are going to have to manage your time wisely. There are only 24 hours in a day, and 8 of them are spent asleep which means that you have got 16 hours to work. Banish all socialising for 30 days and you will complete your task.

Stop responding to social media, emails and phone calls

According to research, the average person spends approximately 4.7 hours per day either on the phone or on social media. Put a message on your profiles stating that friends should only contact you in case of an emergency. If you don’t think you can handle eliminating them all together, at least minimize checking to once a day instead of every time you get a message.

Draw strict boundaries around your workspace

If you are writing a dissertation, you have already completed several essays and reports. This means that you know what conditions you require in order to be able to concentrate and get things done. When do you feel you are the most productive? Research shows that it is in the morning, but you might feel it’s in the afternoon or the evening. What type of environment are you most comfortable? Do you listen to music while you work?

If you have roommates or family, tell them that your study area is off limits for the next 30 days, no barging in when they feel like it for random conversations. If you have a separate room for study, put a no entrance sign on the door.

It is imperative that you claim your own private space when you are writing your thesis. It doesn’t have to be at home, it can be in your office, a lab or a library. Whereever you choose, make sure that it has enough lighting, equipment and materials so that you can get the job done.

You will be more prone to procrastination and time wasting if you have to keep getting up to look for things that you need; therefore, make sure that everything is at arm’s length. Make sure that your work area is clutter free so that you will be able to focus. At the end of each writing session, spend a few minutes cleaning up so that it is ready for the next day and cleaning never becomes a major obstacle.

A straight back chair and a desk are typically the best choice for writing, you may be able to write on a comfy chair or a couch but if you get too comfortable, you might find that you fall asleep.

Create a routine

Create a schedule that outlines all the timeframes that you are going to dedicate to writing over the next month and make sure that you stick to it. If you plan properly, if you are disciplined in achieving your goals nothing will be able to stop you.
